Cloud Deployment

Getting applications into production with repeatable releases, sensible environments, and monitoring.

Software that only runs on a developer’s machine is unfinished. Deployment work covers the environments, release process, monitoring, and recovery procedures that let an application run in production predictably.

We work with mainstream cloud platforms and select the smallest arrangement that meets your requirements for availability, cost, data location, and the ability of your team to operate it.

Scope

What the work includes

Environment design

Separate environments for development, testing, and production, with the differences between them documented rather than improvised.

Release pipelines

Automated build, test, and deploy steps so a release is a routine event with a known rollback path, not a manual procedure performed from memory.

Configuration and secrets

Credentials held in the platform’s secret store, never in source control or client-side code, with access limited to the people and services that require it.

Monitoring and logging

Uptime checks, error tracking, and log retention appropriate to the application, with alerts routed to whoever is responsible for responding.

Backups and recovery

Backup schedules matched to how much data loss your organization can tolerate, plus written and tested restore procedures.

Cost and scaling review

Right-sizing at launch and a review after real usage data exists, so you are not paying for capacity that is never used.

Detail

Hosting decisions are yours

You own the cloud accounts, domains, and platform subscriptions unless your agreement states otherwise. We can operate them on your behalf, but the relationship with the platform provider stays with you, and platform costs are billed to you directly by that provider.

Deliverables

What you receive

  • Provisioned environments and access model
  • Automated deployment pipeline
  • Monitoring, alerting, and log configuration
  • Backup schedule and tested restore procedure
  • Runbook covering routine operations and incident response
Conditions

What to know before starting

Availability

Cloud platforms experience outages, and no configuration eliminates that risk entirely. We design for the availability target stated in your agreement and are explicit about what that target does and does not cover.
